The Blooming Marker Scarf is a time-based exploration of mark-making and digital textile printing.
It is an ode to two traditional pattern styles in textile history (the floral and the polka dot).

A wooden base is constructed for the "canvas" of the fabric flower bed, as 24 felt-tip markers are periodically watered and spritzed over 5 hours, re-blooming and wicking out.

The cotton is scanned and designed to be digitally printed on silk and georgette scarves, highlighting opacity and bright floral colors.
