In my recent days of feeling deep weight in my heart, I have curled into my shell to meet with “little child Jenny.” To parent myself and be held. I yearn for gentle momentum, tender love, warm family and community. This series is simply, portraits of foods as close friends, loving families, partners, present and at peace. Colored pencils as a medium evoking elementary play. Maybe making characters for images of love that I hadn't often seen in my childhood, and wish to write into my present and future. I whit wherever these drawings end up to bring a moment of rest for you, a glimpse into lighthearted connection, to feel the paradox of these serious but not so serious portraits.
