The main dish will be paired with my grandparents’ signature ginger garlic sauce, one seasonal side dish served family style, and mo mo cha cha, a coconut dessert I make for all the big gatherings (because my family loves it so much.)

ABOUT:
Hainanese Chicken Rice has been a symbol of gathering and celebration in my mom’s family growing up. This dinner is an homage to my maternal grandparents and the value of hospitality that they have raised me on. I’m honored host a meal that allows Hainanese Chicken Rice to shine outside its traditional identity of Singapore Hawker Center fare and into the “home-cook” “family recipe” identity that my family prepares it as. Beyond just a “pop-up” meal, I also see this as an art piece of sorts, painting an image of that warmth through caring for those we cook for.
This Hainanese Chicken Rice dinner series has been featured in Eater NY, Goldenguide, and Asian American Arts Alliance. Jenny has hosted collaborative dinners with teams like Welcome to Chinatown and Easy Lover, both of which have sold out in only a few days and hours.

Note: This is a plated, family style (shared plates) meal, consisting of various ingredients and poultry. For this event, we are unable to allow adjustments for dietary preferences, restrictions, or allergies. | The Guest who purchases this dinner is responsible for the cost of the private location, table & seating options that the Chef and her team will travel to serve dinner at. The Chef will handle staffing, food & labor costs, and dishware/event decor design (unless the guest would like to collaborate!) All in all, when you book this dinner, we’ll talk and coordinate before your big day :).
